Teaching the "whole" person is the essence of liberal arts education. expanding oneself in every direction, using as many parts of the brain as possible. As with the brain, learning is interconnected. When even one part is less developed, the "whole" is diminished.
For me, there is no greater joy in my life than the moments I have seen a fruition in a student - whether it is a small step or a culminating one, I revel in it with them.
To make the connection to creative expression is to see joy, experience life and enrich the soul.
